iCommons Software Availability Policy

The primary purpose of the Pius XII Memorial Library’s Information Commons is to provide access to Library resources such as databases, ejournals, ebooks, and other electronic resources that relate to the Library’s mission.

To further support the research needs of the Saint Louis University community, the Information Commons also provides access to the following University-licensed software:

Available Software

Software Available on every machine in the Information Commons:

Along with these standard pieces of software, there are specific machines that have more specialized software installed. The available software is:

Specialized computers

Microfilm Scanner:

There are two machines in the Information Commons that have a microfilm scanner attached to it. These machines are for general use, but priority is given to those who are in need to scan microfilm. The software on these machines are, along with all the standard software:

  • Adobe Acrobat XI Pro
  • Adobe Distiller XI Pro
  • Adobe Lifecycle Designer 8
  • Power Scan 2000

Bloomberg Terminals:

The Bloomberg Terminals are machines specifically used for stock analysis. These are much more powerful computers and available for general use, but no other special software is installed and priority is given to those who require the use of the Bloomberg software.
